On Wednesday, EOLO-Kometa Team unveiled a new rider. Alessandro Fedeli has joined the team, the news were broken of the Italian rider who had for the majority of 2022 had no contract.
The Italian was most recently signed with Gazprom-Rusvelo, but he and the team's other riders were released when the UCI banned the team due to the war in Ukraine. "We were already monitoring him with the next season in mind, but due to circumstances, it was accelerated. He brings quality and value to the team. In the initial talks, I was impressed by the motivation and hunger for success," Ivan Basso said.
Fedeli in the meantime, has revealed how happy he was to be back to competition: “To say that I am delighted is reductive, I wanted with all my strength to close this very bad period and return to racing, and to have arrived at EOLO-KOMETA is something that goes beyond all expectations."
"I had already given up on this season and instead, here I am," he mentioned. He raced for the Italian national team for the last few months - until the Giro di Sicilia. He's obtained some strong results in other races aswell such as the GP Industria and Per Sempre Alfredo.
