With the retirement of the latter at 42 years of age last December from professional cycling, it is time to tell you what they are doing after their retirements.

Alberto Contador "El pistolero"

Contador first founded his own bike brand, Aurum, and, together with his great friend Ivan Basso, a brand ambassador, founded in 2018 the team now known as Eolo-Kometa Cycling Team, with ProTeam license, which uses his bikes. He is also a commentator for Eurosport in Spain and organizer of his own Gran Fondo in September.

Alejandro Valverde "El Bala"

He retired at the end of 2022. However, not completely, as he is going to start competing in gravel. In fact, he will be the leader of the Movistar Team Gravel Squad. On Sunday, April 23, he will inaugurate his new career off-road with the race "La Indomable". In addition to this, he is part of the Movistar Team organization, accompanying his former teammates in some races.

Joaquim "Purito" Rodríguez

After his retirement in 2016 he has been very active in mountain bike races and has participated on several occasions in the Cape Epic. He has been an ambassador for different bike brands. He also organizes his own Gran Fondo, the Purito Andorra, one of the most famous on the Spanish scene. As if that wasn't enough, he also races gravel, is an ambassador for the Vuelta España and a TV commentator.
