AG2R Citroën Team becomes Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team officially into 2024

French sports brand Decathlon becomes the new main sponsor of the AG2R team. A move that was expected already for several months, today the team had it's official presentation and will become Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale Team into 2024.

Citroën removes itself as a team sponsor after several years and the team returns to it's purely French roots. Decathlon is a French sporting goods retailer with international recognition and becomes the title sponsor of the team, which is assumed to keep a similar budget.

The team sees the departure of Greg van Avermaet this winter as he retires from pro cycling but with the budget that was now available, the team has signed Tour de France breakthrough Victor Lafay - although this has not yet been officially announced.

The team also leaves it's BMC bikes and makes the move over to use Van Rysel bikes, a direct partner of Decathlon.
