No luck for French fan-favourite David Gaudu who seemed in a great shape following the Tour of Oman where he won a stage and finished third overall. The 28-year-old was set to lead his team this Friday at Classic Var, followed Tour des Alpes Maritimes, but a curious training crash will see him sidelined for the time being.
"Following a fall during training, caused by a stray animal, David Gaudu will not start the Classic Var and the Tour des Alpes Maritimes," his team Groupama - FDJ informed through X. "Further tests are underway. He will be replaced by Cyril Barthe at the Classic Var and Enzo Paleni at the Tour des Alpes-Maritimes."
À la suite d’une chute à l’entraînement, causée par un animal errant, David Gaudu ne prendra pas le départ de la Classic Var et du Tour des Alpes-Maritimes. Des examens complémentaires sont en cours.
