The dust has settled on yet another edition of the
Giro d'Italia as 2026 saw Jonas Vingegaard sweep up his fourth grand tour win and join an illustrious club to become a triple crown grand tour winner. With the win, Vingegaard and
Team Visma | Lease a Bike have dominated the Giro prize money earnings.
The Dutch team took home a stunning six stage wins thanks to five Vingegaard solo victories in the mountains. Add to this Sepp Kuss' sensational queen stage win and the earnings for taking
the pink jersey, and they come out with over €400,000 in prize money - over double of any other team.
Felix Gall's second place sees Decathlon CMA CGM finish second in the prize money list, taking €183,386. Meanwhile, Bahrain-Victorious also take home €108,044 in winnings, largely due to Afonso Eulalio's stint in pink and then the white jersey, as well as a stage win with Alec Segaert.
UAE Team Emirates - XRG stage victories
With four stage wins,
UAE Team Emirates - XRG emerge from the Giro as content as they can be given their disastrous start in Bulgaria. They lost three crucial riders in Adam Yates, Jay Vine and Marc Soler by the start of stage 3 but salvaged success through the breakaway and the exploits of Jhonatan Narvaez and Igor Arrieta. This puts them as the highest placed team in the prize money standing without a general classification rider boosting their tally.
Other teams to take sizeable prize money include Red Bull - BORA Hansgrohe, Lidl-Trek, Soudal Quickstep and XDS Astana. The highest placed non WorldTour team are Polti-VisitMalta at an impressive 9th place with €62,361.
A total of €1.6 million in
prize money will be distributed from the Giro d'Italia, making it a potentially lucrative race for the teams at the front. However, not all teams enjoyed big payouts. Team Picnic Post NL endured an uneventful race and earned just €2,179 after arriving in Rome.
