2024 Giro d'Italia route possibly leaked one day ahead - Start and finish locations revealed

The Giro d'Italia presentation takes place today in the afternoon however it is possible that the route has been leaked. A picture has surfaced on social media showing a map of the 2024 edition with details that are already known to be certain, it's possible that there will be no surprise on the presentation.

Taking place in May, the Grande Partenza will be in the Piemonte region and these past few days, it has been revealed the profile of the first three stages - all of them hilly, with a first day finishing in Torino and a second day having a tough summit finish on the Monte Oropa. Rumours had circulated over the rest of the route, but a clear picture may now be had.

Although it is not confirmed, a graphic has been shown on social media with what may be the route for the upcoming Grand Tour. The image shows - with not too much detail - a route which will in it's entirety take place in northern and central Italy.

Summit finishes at Prati di Tivo and Sappada which had over the past few weeks been heavily hinted are present in the route, as is a finale in Livigno which should include the mythical Passo dello Stelvio. Over the opening week the race will travel south all the way into Napoli, and then return to the north via the Adriatic sea and the Reggio Emilia region, with plenty days in the Alps to close the race off and then a final day in Rome.
