- Erm? What’s that word for when someone tells others to shut up because they don’t like or don’t want to accept or think about what they’re saying?
- Oh dear, he uses THIS situation to tell OTHERS they should keep quiet? He’d have been wise to practice what he preaches when TRYING to find a way round the question. His answer only confirms he is either one of naïve about the whole thing, or knowingly paid to distort reality, if it’s the first you really ought to know not to open your mouth on the subject at all, just plead ignorance, if the second, I suggest you work on more credible answers, there are professionals to guide you there.
That answer was about as relevant as the luxury hotel tourist who comes back saying he didn’t notice anything at the airport or resort, very representative of a country’s reality.
PS Russia is investing a lot in sports too, not long ago Sir Coe was even complimenting Putin. Anyone who didn’t understand how sportswashing works now has a better idea, pay nicer guys to tell you there’s nothing there to look at. And THAT Maria, is the reason I don’t congratulate your hero (and a lot of other individuals) more than I do, he’s using his voice for the wrong people and values, the way things are (or are changing) nowadays, everyone is going to have to pick which side they’re on andsorry, if you’re on the eff anyone outside my circle as long as we’re making good, you get zero support from me, in fact less, some form of boycotting or resistance will be exercised.
- Like their stranglehold when Paret-Peintre won the stage and Visma isolated Tadej?
- Seems like it, they may have briefly sped up around that time, no idea if by coincidence or if they were told he’d try and they didn’t want him. Could have been more exciting but actually don’t think he had enough stamina for such a move, let’s not forget the speeds they’ve been pushing all month and today, even in top form, which is doubtful, that would be getting to him too after 2 weeks non-stop.
- Unfortunately, you can’t send out different messages to different kinds of people.
The very vast majority don’t need a message in the first place, a few will take it as a challenge, some will do something anti-authoritarian and a couple more will try to exploit it for fame or monetary value. In the end, no message prevents the last three categories, that leaves one very small niche somewhere that the message may help for, those who are sometimes absent-minded who for some reason remember the message in the right moment. On the other hand, few people have proposed better suggestions to prevent these things happening and frankly, when you consider the thing in its entirety, we’re actually lucky and I’m surprised not more happens (it will in future though) when you compare to other big crowded events.
- when/where id Pog suggest that "free speech be stopped?" ... and I believe all TdF riders are 'free' to escape UAE/Pogs "stranglehold" = all they have to do is sustained +7.1w/kg attacks
- Clearly arrogance has gone to their heads. Tadej the cycling world is not UAE, free speech cannot be stopped and neither can the riders that want to break free of your teams stranglehold
- I'd like to understand Wout's move in the 2nd climb, did he want to try to catch the 4 guys in front and couldn't make it? Or something else?
- It's a good thing that the Tour organizers had sent a message to the fans, asking them to not do anything stupid.
- what threat? what are they going to do, ban him again? meanwhile the head of the UCI is riding in a car all day up Ventoux with Richard Virenque of all people.
glass houses and stones people.
