- This sponsor crap is not as simple as some always would like. The sponsor has very little to say in matters of performance but then again, is free to stop sponsoring when a contract runs out. Anyone involved in sport at any level should understand this better. It’s more like the risks of an investment with hardly any upside except (often only perceived) benefits of being associated with success.
