  I really admire a rider like Sovakov, someone who has gone through the transition of 2019 to 2025 and redefined themselves. At every stage, there is always someone out there better. Finding your line and finding peace with it? That is huge. And yet here he is, seeking a better season, seeing himself getting better in this role and maybe more. There is a beauty in self awareness and hope.

  Beautifully said Riccardo. I find it sad that someone of De Vlaeminck’s standing in the cycling world, would need to insult today’s peloton and in particular Pogi and what was the point behind those insults. Where would we be in this world if we didn’t accept the changes that the modern era has brought us in everything we do in life.

  He’s being quite kind to Roger - far kinder than he deserves. Pog is not only a dominant rider, he doesn’t seem to be an a$& either. Something Roger is clearly incapable of. Would he be saying the same of a fellow Belgian?
