Exciting news for Mauri Vansevenant who welcomed his first child last week

Mauri Vansevenant and his girlfriend Hanne Claeys welcomed their first child last week. They announced the happy news on their social media. Their son Médard was weighed 3.134 kg and was 49 centimeters tall at birth. 

"Happiness is the only thing that doubles when you share it," Claeys wrote in the post on their social media. In April, the couple had already announced they were happily expecting their first child.

Vansevenant's last race was the Clasica San Sebastian two weeks ago. The Belgian rider is currently listed on the provisional startlist for Vuelta a Espana, but whether he'll actually appear in Turin will become clear with an official team lineup announcement later this week.
