- "Will any team sign him for next season?"
The laugh of the day!
- He's transferring to EF next season!
- 100% agree...
- 8.8 pounds starting from where???
A body that was already highly efficient and lean, without nibbling at any part of the legs (which may even have increased in weight so it may have been more than 8.8 to lose elsewhere).
- Hill33, to any American, already an average non sporty French woman will seem underweight so getting agreement internationally should be interesting even if the UCI resorts to external consultants :-)
Seriously though, are you going to try to deny that kids don’t ever try to emulate their heroes, no matter whether in sport, music, acting, dancing, gaming, fashion? Does no-one actually watch what kids do, wear, etc? They buy (force their parents usually) kit, learn moves, change their make-up, read interviews on every detail, follow influencers (including their programmes, challenges, dares, gags, etc) to the letter. If a hero says they did 30 hours a week of training to get better you can bet a whole bunch of followers will drop all their other pastimes to try and achieve it, often at the expense of much needed sleep or a social life to have e.g. real childhood friends (not the ones who remember you once you’ve made it) for the future. Many pro athletes end up loners and in relationships with other pro athletes.
- Well , know the exact facts - the giro case etc you’ll find out it is not that simple.
- Have many children do you? Got cameras to check what they’re up to behind your back? Unless your called Van der Poel or Schleck or the like, there’s not a hope in hell they’ll listen to you for cycling advice, let alone much else. Trust me, I coached young athletes for years
- You hardly ever see articles over issues the riders unions raise, they tend not to exploit the media for leverage in negotiations like politicians.
- From past participations, I’m guessing he feels more of a duty or desire to offer his allure to the Belgian/Dutch races that sometimes need a helping hand to attract the very best riders. Just a feeling, haven’t done the checks but I guess he also sees it as a practical/efficient way of combining it with some personal rdvs now that he lives abroad more.
- So why doesn’t he undertake anything to this supposed feeling you say he has (you seem to know as well as his mother).
What stops him from moving, what stops him from paying some tax in a country of his choice now that he feels embarrassed about his earnings. He could move right next door to Nice and surroundings where some of the other riders are based, or keep his appartement in Monaco but opt for fiscal residency back in Slovenia. I really don’t get this contradiction. If you feel bad in a relationship or with your diet or physically you usually stop or change something.
I did not post this FACT as a derogatory remark about him, I posted it to counter your analysis of feelings he’s never spoken about and may e nobody has ever asked him. He certainly doesn’t seem bothered about any of this in any of the videos when people visited him there.
PS you don’t get to buy an appartement there on a “normal” riders’ salary, he was already earning plenty and knew he’d be earning more soon. He was earning 5 to 6m already in 21 when he bought the place, the highest paid together with Sagan and Froome. It’s not gone up exponentially since then has it, in fact, others like Remco and MVDP have gained faster since then.
