  Amateur opinion by this guy Clement. Never heard of him and it's clear he doesn't know what he's talking about. "oh the others avoided the stone." Come on. It was on the far left of the course. Pogacar was only a few rows back. In the video from in front of the peloton it was clear that only one rider had to actually avoid it and Pogacar was right behind that rider who had to swerve slightly to his right. I think Clement was trying to find a novel way to report on Pogacar's crash and it is very weak. There is no real support for his claim that Pogacar was overconfident. It was just bad luck. And CyclingUpToDate should be more careful about posting such drivel.

  Boo cyclinguptodate are doing the clickbait thing again! They have edited the quote to read “People think he wins so much it’s about time he had bad luck” to draw our attention. But the relavent part from the quote from FFB in the text actually reads “People think that he wins so much so he probably doesn’t even care anyway, or it’s about time he had bad luck.” Not cool Kieren!

  I think Pogi should not return this year, he's done enough. But if he was to return, he should only do the last race this season, and that is the fifth Monument- Il Lombardia, on Saturday, October 10, 2026. If he would win it, he would be the first cyclist in history to win four Monuments in the same year, while being second in one (Paris-Roubaix). Now I'm not saying that's a smart thing to do, but you never know with these sports "super-humans" like Pogi or Marquez... and todays science in medical technology. What ever the decision will be, I hope it's for the good of Pogi, because things can also go bad and ugly if the wrong decision is made.
