Wout van Aert sets out on his final cyclocross appearance of this winter in Benidorm World Cup

Wout van Aert headlines the Belgian selection for the Benidorm World Cup, as he returns from a racing break. World Cup leader and newly crowned Belgian champion Eli Iserbyt will also travel to Spain, just like his teammate and currently European Champion Michael Vanthourenhout. Among the women, Sanne Cant will be present.

Van Aert last raced in the X2O Trophy Koksijde on January 4 where he finished third behind Pim Ronhaar and his rival Mathieu van der Poel. However Van Aert's return to the field will be short-lived: the Benidorm World Cup will be the final cross of his season before the full focus shifts to road again. In his last appearance, a big showdown against Van der Poel is what fans hope for, but realistically, it's an unlikely scenario.

Belgian Men Elite lineup for Benidorm World Cup:
Jens Adams, Thijs Aerts, Eli Iserbyt, Lander Loockx, Witse Meeussen, Thibau Nys, Laurens Sweeck, Wout van Aert, Toon Vandebosch, Niels Vandeputte, Michael Vanthourenhout and Joran Wyseure

Belgian Women Elite lineup for Benidorm World Cup:
Lotte Baele, Julie Brouwers, Sanne Cant, Alicia Franck, Fleur Moors, Marion Norbert Riberolle, Jinse Peeters and Laura Verdonschot
