“They were shouting 'wheelie, wheelie!'" - Puck Pieterse delights fans in attendance by celebrating win at Superprestige Diegem

Puck Pieterse was a comfortable winner at Superprestige Diegem on Thursday night, finishing almost half a minute clear of Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado.

“I knew you had to be in the right place at the start, because every second counted," recapped the Dutchwoman in her post-race interview. "It's very difficult to make up five seconds here. I decided to go straight into it at full speed and keep up the pace.”

Delighting the crowds in attendance Pieterse celebrated her win with a wheelie. “They were shouting 'wheelie, wheelie!' But it didn't go very well, there was quite a lot of wind," she laughs. "But the atmosphere here is always nice. I couldn't hear anything the whole game because there were so many people shouting.”

After taking victory on Boxing Day, consigning Fem van Empel to her first defeat of the season, Pieterse is clearly in some good form.
