Sven Nys about his Baloise - Trek Lions riders ahead of World Championships: "Hopefully everyone stays healthy"

Sven Nys sees several possibilities for medals a few days before the World Championships in Tábor. However his main concern now is for all his riders to stay healthy, the Baloise - Trek Lions confides to WielerFlits.

"Thibau also had a very good day. I think he could have lasted a little longer during Van der Poel's second attack, but he was not in the right position. As a result, he had to make an extra effort, which was a bit too much. Then he also misses the podium in a perhaps too easy way. But for us as a team it was a perfect day," he looks back at Hoogerheide World Cup.

"I just want those boys to be ready for the World Championships. It doesn't matter to me that they are now wearing a Belgian or Dutch jersey. I would prefer to have one or two guys on the podium among the elite men. Physically they are ready for that. Now it's up to them to try to focus and lay out the ideal day."

"There are still a few days until the World Championships, hopefully everyone stays healthy. That is my biggest concern now, because it is not entirely within your control."
