Silvia Persico narrowly missed her chance to stand on the podium in the Val di Sole World Cup. She made a small mistake in the final moment, which gave Manon Bakker a chance to take bronze for herself.
"I chose the tyres for wet weather, but it was so slippery today. I don't know what happened," said Persico in the post-race interview. She lost third place to Bakker and finished fourth. "I'm happy with the fourth place because it was my first World Cup race. I was hoping to get the podium since we are in Italy. But this is also okay. I want to thank everyone who supported me here. Next week I want to ride another good cross,” concluded Persico.
