Shirin van Anrooij after victory in Exact cross Mol -"This gives a lot of confidence for the busy Christmas period"

Baloise Trek Lions rider Shirin van Anrooij proved to be the best in the Exact cross Mol. In the second lap, the Dutchwoman created a gap that she maintained throughout the race.
“I felt super good today”, said van Anrooij in the post-race interview. Although she didn't get off to the best start, she was able to get to the front by the first lap, along with Annemarie Worst. “My start wasn't great, but I wanted to get to the sand first and use that stretch.”
During the next lap, she increased her lead after dropping Worst. “I made a mistake once, and the rest didn't get any closer. Then I knew: if I don't make any more mistakes, I will make it," said van Anrooij.
This is her second victory of the season, giving her the much-needed confidence heading into the upcoming week. “This was a cross where I wanted to test how the condition is and it is a lot better than before my internship in Spain, so that's nice. This gives a lot of confidence for the busy Christmas period,” concluded the Dutchwoman.

- Here he is again, giving real answers! Love it. As a fan, I had not really paid attention but agree with what he says. Between Pogacar and van der Poel, with their attacks from 50k and more, the racing is simply different. At the grand tours, it's that kind of attacking every day, as well (e.g., even when he didn't want to, other teams goaded Pogacar into racing for the win at the Tour). I can imagine how hard that is for a rider, but for me as a fan it's certainly a lot of fun to watch.RidesHills25-11-2024

- Agree, it is incomplete to omit the doped peloton. Lance was just better at it, a bigger liar, and vindictively went after people to protect the secret. Look how many results had to be restated, where other riders were also stripped of their results, and the problems ex us postal riders faced because their doping programs were not as good as postal.
