Baloise Trek Lions rider
Shirin van Anrooij proved to be the best in the Exact cross Mol. In the second lap, the Dutchwoman created a gap that she maintained throughout the race.
“I felt super good today”, said van Anrooij in the post-race interview. Although she didn't get off to the best start, she was able to get to the front by the first lap, along with
Annemarie Worst. “My start wasn't great, but I wanted to get to the sand first and use that stretch.”
During the next lap, she increased her lead after dropping Worst. “I made a mistake once, and the rest didn't get any closer. Then I knew: if I don't make any more mistakes, I will make it," said van Anrooij.
This is her second victory of the season, giving her the much-needed confidence heading into the upcoming week. “This was a cross where I wanted to test how the condition is and it is a lot better than before my internship in Spain, so that's nice. This gives a lot of confidence for the busy Christmas period,” concluded the Dutchwoman.
