"Now I want to keep everything intact and then go well into the spring" - Lucinda Brand looking forward to return to road after latest cyclocross success

Lucinda Brand took yet another victory this winter on Sunday afternoon at the X2O Trofee in Brussels. That makes it seven wins for the season for the Baloise - Trek Lions star.

“It's going really well and that's very nice," said a beaming Brand in her post-race interview, following her victory in Brussels ahead of Marion Norbert-Riberolle and Manon Bakker. "Now I want to keep everything intact and then go well into the spring."

“It took some searching at the beginning. I also changed tire pressure, because I couldn't lose my strength. It was tough otherwise," she says, noting her struggles with the mud early on. "Marion Norbert Riberolle and Manon Bakker are technically strong, so the question was who made the fewest mistakes.”

“The course was very slippery. The top layer was broken and underneath it was hard. Then you don't really get a grip and that made it very difficult,” she concludes. “I have never won here before, so it is very nice to win.”
