Lucinda Brand has made it a double success this weekend, backing up her Saturday triumph at Exact Cross Sint-Niklaas with another victory on Sunday at the X2O Trofee in Brussels.
The last round of this season's X2O Trofee, some of the big names were absent in Brussels but there was nevertheless an intense fight for victory from the women on show. Denise Betsema looked good early on but before too long it was Lucinda Brand who began to take control.
After she was joined at the front by Marion Norbert-Riberolle, Brand attacked again and left her rival in the dust, firing towards victory. Holding 11 seconds over Norbert-Riberolle entering the final lap, Brand did enough to hold for the win, with Manon Bakker completing the podium.
