Mathieu van der Poel will begin his cyclocross season in the coming weeks, likely in the Hulst World Cup in the Netherlands. However, he will be having a different look than that of the road cycling season, as his hair has been painted blonde.
“My girlfriend made a mistake with a spray… It turned out blond. You get used to it," he said in an interview with Matt Stephens. The change of looks was revealed in a small video which has been recorded recently, and it will see a fresh van der Poel entering the muddy crosses.
This weekend will see the Superprestige Merksplas where Tom Pidcock will be debuting his rainbow jersey. and also the 6th round of the World Cup in Overijse. Wout van Aert in the meantime has delayed his start to the season by a week, as he will be pinning the number for the first time in the Antwerp World Cup the following week.
