"I said to myself: I'm going to make short work of it" - Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado eases to 4th victory of the season at Jaarmarktcross Niel

Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado continued her strong start to the cyclocross campaign on Monday afternoon at Superprestige Jaarmarktcross Niel. Emerging a dominant victory, the Dutch former qorld champion increased her tally to four wins already this winter.

After firing clear of the chasers early and building up an advantage over around 9 seconds over Lucinda Brand by the end of the first lap, Alvarado was simply never seen again by the rest of the field, continually increasing her lead, so much so that she was able to cruise around the final lap safely, enjoying the applause of the fans in attendance. 

"I felt good. Sunday was tough, so I said to myself: I'm going to make short work of it now," said Alvarado afterwards in her post-race interview with host broadcasters. "Although I didn't expect to have such a big gap so quickly."
