The 2024 year is coming to a close, and in the cyclocross season this means that we have just passed the halfway mark on the season. All the cups are ongoing and we've got interesting battles for the several titles. We take a look at all of the current situations.

World Cup

Michael Vanthourenhout leads the World Cup after a very consistent set of results and a few wins, and he has a strong lead over Toon Aerts despite his disaster in Zonhoven. He has 189 points against Aerts' 164, and there is a meaningful gap then to many riders. With four races remaining the tables could still turn however and Mathieu van der Poel himself in there in the middle, with 120 points and a three more races where he could very likely win another 120 points - and the world cup!

In the women's side, consistency is king, and Lucinda Brand is at the top with 215 points. Fem van Empel has had to miss races and thus follows distantly with 169 points. Youngsters Zoe Bäckstedt, Marie Schreiber and Blanka Kata Vas are in the fight for the podium right after, but a few others are also present in the fight.

Superprestige

Niels Vandeputte and Lars van der Haar were evenly matched throughout several races, but a small gaphas appeared of 5 points in favour of the Alpecin-Deceuninck rider. 74 against van der Haar's 69 points with two races to go make the Belgian the prime favourite for the win, whilst Laurens Sweeck and Michael Vanthourenhout headline the fight for third place.

The women's competition is truly a battle between two champions who don't give each other any room to breathe. Both have finished with a win or close in every single race and with two races remaining Alvarado has a lead of 1 point. If in Gullegem Brand beats Alvarado they will literally go into the final race tied in points. Inge van der Heijden is isolated in third place.

X2O Trofee Badkamers

Eli iserbyt, despite his recent health issues, is still within a shot of winning a cup. After 4 out of 8 rounds he leads the competition with 41 seconds over Lars van der Haar - the duo battled for the win last year already. But the two are not alone here and the tables could turn, as Michael Vanthourenhout and Toon Aerts are just over 2 minutes behind and this could quickly come down. Niels Vandeputte and Pim Ronhaar are also within a chance of a podium depending on how the second half of the cup goes.

Few women have taken this competition to full ambition and this does not include either Fem van Empel or Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado, who remain high in the standings due to their strong performances when they did race, but if Lucinda Brand doesn't miss any race she will win the cup. She leads Annemarie Worst by a whole 4:40 minutes and Alvarado by 5:25 minutes.
