Michael Vanthourenhout has had a few very strong races this season and is currently in the lead of the World Cup, his new prime goal. The X2O Badkamers Trofee classification will be forgotten as the Belgian will skip the
GP Sven Nys Baal after a string of bad luck that has been affecting.
Last week in Zonhoven Vanthourenhout already found several unexpected obstacles, including a shoe change which severely hampered his result and saw his gap come down in relation to several of his rivals. Another less good performance in Besançon saw Toon Aerts creep in closer to the lead, whilst Mathieu van der Poel will also be a threat as he will race three out of the four remaining World Cups and seems unbeatable.
