Wout Van Aert continues his Tour de France preparation as the Belgian is back to altitude training. This time in Switzerland.
Expected Tour de France Jumbo-Visma lineup (except Sepp Kuss) already spent some time at Sierra Nevada and while most of the group will be doing Critérium du Dauphiné, Van Aert will be racing Tour de Suisse and thus he grabbed the opportunity to spice some altitude training ahead of the race with a bit of gravel.
His training ride took place in the vicinity of the hardest stages of this year's Tour de Suisse, just a stone's throw from the crucial queen stage that finishes in La Punt.
Van Aert has recently confirmed that he's not planning to hunt the green jersey at Tour de France, but that he'll instead aim all of his focus on supporting Jonas Vingegaard, who'd like to defend his title from 2022.
