Wout van Aert, Simon Yates & Olav Kooij give Team Visma | Lease a Bike various routes to success at Giro d'Italia 2025

The 2025 Giro d'Italia is almost here and for Team Visma | Lease a Bike, the opening Grand Tour of the campaign marks a great opportunity to kickstart their season after a relatively quiet Spring. Through the leadership trio of Wout van Aert, Simon Yates and Olav Kooij, Visma also have plenty of different routes to that potential success.
“This year’s Giro features a very well-balanced route, with interesting stages for every type of rider. And we’re starting with a team made up of many different types of riders,” says sports director Marc Reef in a press release to Team Visma | Lease a Bike's official website after the confirmation of the team's lineup for the 2025 Giro d'Italia. “Our biggest goal as a team is to chase stage victories. With Wout van Aert, Olav Kooij, and Simon Yates, we have three leaders who have already proven they can win a stage in a Grand Tour. With them, we should be able to compete on all terrains.”
With strong and experienced support for the three leaders coming in the form of European time trial champion Edoardo Affini, former Paris-Roubaix winner Dylan van Baarle, former podium finisher at the Giro d'Italia Wilco Kelderman, former Tour de France podium finisher Steven Kruisjwijk and the always reliable Bart Lemmen, the whole team is one of proven strength.

Sorry, tell me one commentator who is objective when his horse is in a race (to complicate: Belgian commentators critical of WVA during his bad patch or Remco over life choices also counts in the opposite way). That doesn’t seem very objective about his general reporting from your side either.
