"Winning the green jersey in the Tour de France it's really special" - Marianne Vos wins the Tour de France Femmes points classification for the second time

Time doesn't seem to affect Marianne Vos who even at the age of 37 is still among the best ladies in peloton, once again proving both her versatility and reliability over the week of racing at the Tour de France Femmes. The three top-5 finishes combined with intermediate sprints were just enough to secure the Green jersey for the Visma | Lease a Bike leader.

"Of course, winning the green jersey in the Tour de France it's really special. That's been a tough week. With the team, we went for it and when the green was an opportunity, we took it and I'm very happy that we brought it under the Alpe d'Huez."

It's not so often the ladies are challenged with such brutal climbing challenge. Even as experienced rider, as Vos is, had to dig very deep to reach the finish line. "At first, it was quite hard but in the end I was with a nice group with a teammate so it was good."

It's already for the second time that Vos wins the Points classification of Tour de France Femmes (previously in 2022), but with the growing reputation of the women's sport, this victory might be even sweeter. "It's fantastic [to be on the podium here at Alpe d'Huez] and I think today there was a big fight for the big three. Of course we were back but we heard it from the side, from the team car, so we knew how exciting it was."
