"When I saw that Roglic pushed the pace I decided to try" - Santiago Buitrago forces way into GC conversation at Paris-Nice with stage 4 victory

Santiago Buitrago was very satisfied with his victory in the third stage of Paris-Nice. The Colombian took advantage of an attack by Primoz Roglic to break away on the penultimate climb of the day alongside Luke Plapp and ended up being stronger than the Australian on the final climb;

He is now second in the general classification and assures that the objective of the Bahrain - Victorious team in the race is to finish as high as possible with him or Pello Bilbao. This is what he told the Eurosport teammates at the finish line:

"Personally, I didn't expect it, I was in good condition. When I saw that Roglic pushed the pace I decided to try. Very happy with today's victory. To win here in a race in France is a special one for me. It's about trying, trying. I tried, I felt with very good legs, with Plapp I pulled very well until the end. It was a very good result, also for the overall, a very positive day. The main goal of this race is to be on the podium with Pello Bilbao or with me and we are on the right track";
