Mikel Landa continues to impress and show good climbing legs at the Volta a Catalunya. Although the Soudal - Quick-Step was again considerably bettered by Tadej Pogacar, Landa proved himself best of the rest.
"Our objective was to gain some time on the other riders in the general classification," the Spaniard explains in a post-stage interview with Eurosport having further consolidated his second position behind Pogacar in the GC. "We knew that victory would be difficult but anyway, we had to try."
Landa actually ignited the attacking on the final climb, although Pogacar quickly countered to sail off towards another victory. "I'm feeling good and I'm really happy," he smiles. "Sometimes the shape is just a feeling or an emotion and I'm feeling good!"
