After the disappointment of missing out on a stage win to Victor Lafay on stage 2 of the 2023 Tour de France, Wout van Aert is now looking to move on and concentrate on achieving success in the remainder of the race.

"You always lose more races than you win," the Belgian of Jumbo-Visma told Wielerflits before the start of the third stage of the race. "So luckily we are already experienced in turning the page and looking at the next day."

There had been some controversy in the final of stage 2 as Jumbo-Visma unsuccessfully attempted to reel in Lafay. Even Wilco Kelderman of the Jumbo-Visma expressed his belief that a turn from Jonas Vingegaard could have made a big difference and given van Aert, who eventually finished second on the day, the stage win.

With stage 3 presenting more of a traditional sprinters day, will van Aert attempt to mix it up with the likes of Mads Pedersen, Jasper Philipsen and Mark Cavendish? Only time will tell.
