The eighth stage of the Volta a Portugal once again saw the breakaway succeed, this time with Burgos-BH emerging victorious as Victor Langellotti came across the line first to take a meaningful win.
The finale in Fafe was a hilly one, it was a difficult day where Langellotti was in the day's breakaway. He managed to go clear in the final kilometers, and just barely managed to hold off the peloton, who almost sprinted over the gap in the final uphill cobbled ascent to the line. Mauricio Moreira was meters away from the win, having finished second, with Scott McGill finishing third.
