With 20 kilometers to go on stage 4,
Tadej Pogacar attacked the
Tour de France for the second time. After making the difference up the Madonna di San Luca, the Slovenian wasn't able to drop
Jonas Vingegaard. But up the Col du Galibier he did with an impressive attack.
Adam Yates, Juan Ayuso and João Almeida completed the pace of UAE Team Emirates up the very high-altitude ascent and with 900 meters to the summit Pogacar launched his attack. He waited until the steepest section and made the difference. Vingegaard initially managed to follow the attack but with around 500 meters to the top of the climb he was unable to. He and
Remco Evenepoel were close to the Slovenian at the summit but these gaps are growing on the descent.
