After the drama of stage 4, the Itzulia Basque Country had a more traditional conclusion on stage 5 this Friday afternoon as Romain Gregoire sprinted to victory in a tight finale.
With a reduced bunch heading to the line, many of the riders weren't traditional sprinters, making for a messy yet intriguing battle for victory. As mentioned, in the end it was Gregoire of Groupama - FDJ who prevailed ahead of Orluis Aular and Max Schachmann as six riders crossed the line, blanketed across the road in an incredible close photo finish.
