VIDEO: Milano-Sanremo at risk? Jasper Philipsen leaves Nokere Koerse in back of ambulance after nasty late crash

Defending champion Jasper Philipsen was expected to be one of the leading contenders for the win at Milano-Sanremo 2025 this coming weekend. Those hopes may now be risk however, after the Alpecin-Deceuninck leader crashed out hard in the finale of Nokere Koerse on Wednesday afternoon, leaving the race in the back of an ambulance.

"I think it is nice to get some competitive feeling after a training camp, to ride a nice race and to compete for the win,” an excited Philipsen had told Wielerflits ahead of the race, looking to gain some winning momentum ahead of the upcoming Monument.

The Belgian had looked to be in tip-top form all day long too, consistently being active at the front, putting his rivals into difficulty and showing off some incredibly strong legs. As preparation began for the final sprint to the line though, everything quite literally came crashing down for Philipsen as he summersaulted in a nasty crash. After staying down for a while and looking in serious pain, he was eventually shepherded into the back of an ambulance for further treatment. See the incident for yourself down below!
