Jonathan Castroviejo has won the Spanish men's time trial championship for the sixth time in his career. The INEOS Grenadiers rider has already won it in 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019, and now in 2023, only three seconds ahead of Movistar Team's Oier Lazkano.
Crossing the finish line, Castroviejo took the lead with a time of 36:44, and not even Juan Ayuso, the big favourite who finished outside the podium, could beat his record. In addition, the 36-year-old veteran rider was the star of the day when his reaction to his victory was recorded live.
