Kaden Groves has once again lived up to the tag of pre-stage favourite to secure himself a second straight stage win at the
Vuelta a Espana in Burriana.
The main rival for the Australian sprint ace from
Alpecin-Deceuninck was something of a surprise on this occasion,
INEOS Grenadiers' world-renowned time-trialist,
Filippo Ganna. Groves was the first to open his sprint and was always in the lead, but Ganna's late charge was an incredibly powerful one. Had the line been a further ten or fifteen metres he could have had it but it wasn't and Groves held on for the victory.
