The weather conditions at the 2024 GP Jean-Pierre Monseré are what can best be described as abysmal. Cold, wet, and windy, the spirits of the riders would've been dampened even further by a mass crash.
With around 35km to go, the peloton was upping the pace in order to catch the break. At a seemingly innocuous point however, a number of riders were brought to a sudden halt. As the riders behind looked to avoid those who'd fallen in front, the narrow road was unforgiving, forcing multiple to flip head over heels in to a deep ditch filled with a watery and muddy puddle.
