The fans have come out in their numbers to welcome the 2024 Vuelta a Espana to Portugal over the past couple of days. Sadly however, on the final climb of stage 2, some fans have got a little too close.
There were a couple of incidents of fans getting too close to the riders with even 2nd overall Mathias Vacek being brought down. Afterwards the Lidl-Trek talent was visibly fuming at a group of spectators at the roadside.
