The victory at GP La Marseillaise 2025 has gone to Cofidis' Valentin Ferron following a thrilling and dramatic finale in Marseille.
Heading into the final 30km, four riders were dangling out ahead of the peloton by around 55 seconds. Once they were caught, a counter move went clear from the peloton including Joshua Tarling, Axel Laurance, Kevin Vauqelin, Timo Kielich and Paul Seixas. With Tarling unable to keep the pace, at 10km to go the leaders were now in a quartet.
With Kielich igniting the attacking at just inside 2km to go, the Alpecin-Deceuninck rider was quickly caught. Kielich then tried again through the flame rouge, but again couldn't snap the elastic. With the finish line in sight though, the peloton re-emerged into the fight and in a frantic sprint for the line, there was a photo finish between Vincent Van Hemelen and Valentin Ferron with the latter being the one to get the win in the end.
