UCI Rankings Teams Update | Astana overtake Uno-X and have gained back 2000 points on Cofidis in 6 weeks

The UCI Rankings remain a heated fight and in this start of the year XDS Astana Team have put all the meat in the grill. They are the second best scoring team of the year and the one who scored the most over this past week, and have officially overtaken Uno-X Mobility. Cofidis and World Tour maintenance sit 2700 points away, almost half of what it was at the start of 2025.

UAE Team Emirates - XRG sit at the top, and with Juan Ayuso netting two wins over the past few days, the team has already went over the 4000 point barrier this season, adding another 500 points since the last update. Alpecin-Deceuninck, despite their win at Kuurne - Bruxelles - Kuurne (Le Samyn points not yet considered here) remain the team with the least UCI points scored this year.

We shift our focus to the battle for relegation where XDS Astana are making huge moves and continue to crawl up the ranks. They have performed greatly over the French classics and Trofeo Laigueglia, and in this update they consolidate their second place in the second (now with over 3000 points scored) and have added another almost 800 points to the tally. They have even overtaken Uno-X Mobility who also scored massive points with Soren Waerenskjold's triump at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.

Now Astana sit less than 100 points away from Arkéa - B&B Hotels and the Norwegian team sit only just a bit over 100. Astana now sit around 2700 points behind Cofidis - who have also scored decent points, but are not being able to stop the Kazakh team's push. At the start of the year this gap was of over 4700 points, and Astana have managed to cut this almost to half in the space of 6 weeks (with Cofidis not slacking when it comes to their own point scoring).

An interesting note to add is that in 2026, only the teams that have finished inside the Top30 of the best-scoring teams this year can receive wildcards for the Grand Tours. At the time being, the Polti and Bardiani (Giro d'Italia) and Euskaltel (Vuelta a España) teams sit outside this list and if they do not enter it, they will automatically be excluded from a participation next year.
