Wout Van Aert at the 2026 Paris-Roubaix
The season rolls on through the peak of spring Classics, with many stage races taking place a little under spotlight. However the teams' UCI Ranking doesn't miss a beat and takes into account every single result, even though the main stage was occupied by Paris-Roubaix and Itzulia Basque Country this past week. Two very different arenas that scattered a large haul of points and reinforced trends already visible in recent weeks.
On top, with complete authority, sits UAE Team Emirates - XRG, breaking the 10,000-point barrier within less than three months of racing in 2026. Their current sum reaches 10,446.4. The Emirati squad continues to dominate thanks to its ability to score on any terrain. This week, Tadej Pogacar put the team on his shoulders with 640 points for a second place at Roubaix, as Itzulia was a bit of a letdown caused by Del Toro's abandon.
Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe successfully defended their second position in the ranking through an incredible consistency. The German team secured multiple results of honor at Roubaix, however the main haul of points came from Itzulia where Florian Lipowitz climbed onto the race's final podium.
Team Visma | Lease a Bike had an even greater week than their German couterparts, in particular thanks to Wout van Aert’s victory at Paris-Roubaix. A Monument victory is valued at 800 UCI points, comfortably more than Lipowitz's 2nd overall in Itzulia (320+46 points) and Mick van Dijke's 6th at Roubaix (280) combined. It'll be interesting to follow in the coming weeks what the mental boost of Van Aert's triumph does to the motivation of Dutch team with view to Ardennes and further down the road the Giro d'Italia.

Challenger for the "big three"?

Paul Seixas was one of the outstanding performers of past week at the Itzulia Basque Country, bringing 596 UCI points to Decathlon CMA CGM's 2026 tally with overall and three stage victories. Thanks to this points input, the French team leaves rivals for fourth spot in the ranking far behind, however their gap to podium remains 1,500 points.
Behind them, in fifth place sits XDS Astana Team. The Kazakh team were a steady performer of the past week with top-10 results at both Itzulia and Roubaix, however struggled to leave a similar impact as the abovementioned teams.

Bahrain - Victorious also remains in their position, sixth, of last week, however their advantage over closest chasers thinned down to just 63 points as Pello Bilbao's 6th place at Itzulia (140+13 points) was their main point input the past week.
The first change in the ranking can be spotted in seventh spot as Alpecin-Premier Tech wrap up their cobbled campaign with a leap over Jayco AlUla. Even though Mathieu van der Poel had to settle for just a 4th spot at Roubaix, that was more than enough to pass the Australian team which had a very modest week at both fronts. However the situation is likely to change in Ardennes where Jayco possesses wider range of weapons compared to Alpecin.
The top-10 is rounded off by former super-teams Soudal Quick-Step and INEOS Grenadiers who have swapped places since last week, but only Soudal can radiate satisfaction with the turn of events as Jasper Stuyven climbed onto the Paris-Roubaix podium (520 points) - a maximum possible, and Tim Merlier triumphed at Scheldeprijs (1.Pro) for 250 UCI points.
Lidl - Trek continues to float around the middle of WorldTour ranking, sliding down to 12th position in this week's iteration of UCI ranking. Their ambitions were hurt by Juan Ayuso and Mattias Skjelmose's failed GC attempt at Itzulia. On the other front, Classics team had to settle for just 7th place of Mads Pedersen at Roubaix (240 points).

Wildcard-battle complicates

Cofidis, for its part, continues its good run and cements itself as the best ProTeam, leveraging its ability to score across varied race profiles. Their block of racing in Basque Country was a massive success thanks to Ion Izagirre's 4th overall (220+33 points) and Alex Aranburu's stage win (50).
While Cofidis seems set to secure automatic wild cards for 2027 season, sporting a 700-point lead at the moment, the situatio further down has complicated. Pinarello Q36.5 slid down the ranking to 18th position, holding a mere 100-point advantage over Unibet Rose Rockets whose consistent performances allowed them to surpass the injury-marred Tudor Pro Cycling, even if only by a tiny margin.
