UCI Rankings Rider Update | Vingegaard Sepp Kuss plummet down; Roglic, van Aert and O'Connor climb up

In the most recent update in the UCI Rankings we have finally got the points scored during the Vuelta a España (and also the Tour of Britain and BEMER Cyclassics) and this means big changes are seen; mainly due to the victory of Primoz Roglic... We take a look at the new Top100.

You can check the previous update. Over the week we've had the Tour of Britain which ended with a solid triumph from Stephen Williams who climbed from 59th to 46th, having a very strong season that also includes a victory at Flèche Wallone. At the BEMER Cyclassics we've had a triumph from Olav Kooij which had hi climb from 37th to 27th... Jonathan Milan and Biniam Girmay also scored important points which sees both within the Top20 currently.

But the biggest story are the new points from the Vuelta a España... It is noteworthy that the points from the 2023 Vuelta are gone, and so we see Jonas Vingegaard descend from 3rd to 9th; Sepp Kuss from 18th to out of the Top100; Juan Ayuso from 11th to 28th... Huge changes from riders who did not participate or score meaningful points in it this year. Remco Evenepoel and Jasper Philipsen moved up to second and third, followed by Mathieu van der Poel.

Then we have Primoz Roglic, winner of the GC but losing the points of his podium last year... He climbs from 8th to 5th. Wout van Aert crashed out, ended his season and lost massive points from his likely wins in the points and KOM classifications but still his three stage wins got him to climb from 9th to 6th. Marc Hirsch, Ben O'Connor, Vingegaard and Mads Pedersen complete the Top10. O'Connor is a new entry, having finished the Vuelta second on top of a brilliant season, he climbed from 26th position.

Enric Mas went up from 38th to 22nd; Richard Carapaz climbed from 25th to 13th; Mattias Skjelmose climbed from 34th to 17th; David Gaudu climbed from outside the Top100 to 75th and Florian Lipowitz is also a new entry, directly into 56th. Points classification winner Kaden Groves actually lost positions since he had already achieved the same last year whilst Jay Vine didn't manage to get himself in the Top100.
