We're still within the spring but talks of contracts are well already on their way in the peloton. Another name who has emerged today as one likely to change environment is
Gino Mäder, who could become the new leader of
Tudor Pro Cycling Team.
The team has made big moves over this winter. Backed by cycling legend Fabian Cancellara, the Swiss-oriented team is building out nicely and has this year been achieving strong results as a new ProTeam-level outfit. Arvid de Kleijn has beaten World Tour competition at Milano-Torino, whilst most recently new signing Joel Suter succeeded in an impressive solo attack at the Giro di Sicilia.
Another one of their new signings was Trek - Segafredo's Alexander Kamp, who has recently won the Régio Pays de la Loire Tour. The team has been taking meaningful success over the past month and is motivated. Now, they look towards the future already, and according to Gazzetta dello Sport's Ciro Scognamiglio, they could be on their way to signing Gino Mäder.
The
Bahrain - Victorious rider has recently finished fifth at Paris-Nice which signals his intentions to still fight among the best in the World Tour. The 26-year old broke through in 2021 where he won a stage at the Giro d'Italia and then won the youth classification alongside a fifth place at the Vuelta a Espana. He's not been able to find freedom within the team and could be on his way out this winter.
