Despite the immense success the link between Lidl-Trek and Elisa Longo Borghini has brought both parties involved, the story is write its final chapters at the end of 2024 after six great arcs.
Latest rumours provided by Gazzetta dello Sport and supported by GCN's Daniel Benson, assume that the Italian champion has a nice offer from the UAE Team ADQ on the table. Meanwhile her current team Lidl-Trek has shown little to no interest in extending the experienced Italian.
2024 marked perhaps the best spring in Longo Borghini's career, with a number of podium finishes and three major victories at Trofeo Oro, Tour of Flanders and Brabantse Pijl. In May, she added an third place overall at the Vuelta Femenina to her palmares.
