Cees Bol has won the second stage of the Tour of Britain. It was a close call between Bol, Jake Stewart and Corbin Strong in which he was determined the winner by photo finish.
The breakaway included Charlie Tanfield, Harry Tanfield, Matthew Teggart, Adam Lewis, Ukko Peltonen, and Travis Stedman. The group of six managed to create a gap of 4 minutes and 30 seconds at the start of the race. Harry Tanfield faced a mechanical problem but quickly joined the first group.
The peloton caught with the breakaway in the final 20 kilometers. Teggart won the KoM jersey. Davide Gabburo sneaked ahead of the peloton and created a small distance ahead of the peloton. Alexandar Richardson and Jack Rootkin-Gray followed him. However, the peloton was not going to let them away easily. In the end, it came down to a sprint in which Bol was fastest while Jake Stewart had to settle for second place. First stage winner Corbin Strong took the bronze.
