With the Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix fast approaching, the Flemish ‘Holy Week’ is upon us, as the Classic Brugge-De Panne, E3 Saxo Classic, Gent-Wevelgem and Dwars door Vlaanderen all form part of the build up to the two cobbled Monuments.
Although they took the victory at De Ronde with Tadej Pogačar last year, the Slovenian is set to be absent from the majority of the Spring Classics this season, meaning that they will have to rely on their other talented riders to deliver results in the major races.
Nils Politt currently looks likely to lead the team at both the E3 Saxo Classic and Gent-Wevelgem, with Tim Wellens and Marc Hirschi also set to join him for the earlier of the two races. However, the team also look like they may be putting their faith in António Morgado for both the Classic Brugge-De Panne and Gent-Wevelgem.
The young Portuguese rider took the victory in the youth classification in his home race at the Volta ao Algarve in February and has already impressed this Spring, with an impressive second place finish at Le Samyn.
He is also set to be riding alongside Wellens and Politt at both the Ronde van Vlaanderen and Paris-Roubaix, before beginning his Ardennes Classics campaign at De Brabantse Pijl.
