Tim Merlier wins stage 6 of UAE Tour - Belgian outsprints De Kleijn and Bauhaus to win third sprint of the race

The overwhelmingly best sprinter at the UAE Tour. On the fourth attempt to win a stage in a bunch sprint, the Soudal - Quick-Step rider has won for the third time and sealed what was a perfect race to end his campaign in the Middle East.

The breakaway of the day this time around consisted of a few riders that tried to pursuit a result: Henri Uhlig, Juan Pedro López, Eddy Finé, Marco Murgano and Jonas Rickaert formed the day's front group and tried to follow through the pan-flat day.

The peloton kept the group under control however and the group was eventually reeled in with 12 kilometers to go. It was another bunch sprint to come under regular conditions, and again with a lot of fresh teams and leadouts heading into the finale.

Tim Merlier had proven his positioning and sprinting skills in the previous days and once again he did what he does best. The Belgian powerhouse put out another brilliant sprint to win stage 6, this time around beating Arvid de Kleijn and Phil Bauhaus.
