Lotto Soudal are fighting for their maintenance in the World Tour and their priority will be in the one-day races in the coming months. For the Vuelta a Espana they have revealed a lineup of riders who will be eyeing breakaways.
Thoma de Gendt is likely the team's best card, facing a route with several stages that suit his skillset. He won a stage at the Giro d'Italia and will be looking to repeat that success here. Maxim van Gils, winner of the Saudi Tour, and Steff Cras will be options for the mountains - with the latter possibly to attempt a GC tilt which could bring in valuable points.
Despite it's wide array of sprinters, the Belgian team did not bring any to the Vuelta, to have them in a more point-efficient calendar. Hence the rest of the team sees some rouleurs who will be hunting breakaways with Kamil Malecki, Cédric Beullens, Filippo Conca, Jarrad Drizners and Harry Sweeny completing the lineup.
