Urska Zigart has renewed her contract with AG Insurance - Soudal Team all the way into 2029. The Slovenian rider has completed her 2026 season due to injury, but has guaranteed her future at the highest level of the sport in the meantime.
“We are very happy to continue our journey with Urska until 2029,” team CEO Jurgen Foré said in a press release. AG Insurance - Soudal Team have committed to a long-term move. “Since joining the team, she has shown how much she can contribute, both through her own performances and through the way she works within the team".
"Urska feels at home in our team, and the team loves working with Urska. Despite all the bad luck this season, her results in the Tour de Romandie, La Vuelta and the Giro demonstrate the progress Urska has made. And we believe there is still a lot more to come. We are looking forward to continuing to support Urška in her ambitions and to building our future team together.”
Zigart has not had the best of seasons, having had the bad luck of fracturing her jaw at the Tour de Suisse Women back in June which derailed her preparation for the Tour de France Femmes; and once again recently at the Faun Tour Femmes where she was preparing for the World Championships.
This week, the 29-year old is in Slovenia, training with her partner Tadej Pogacar at a time where the country hosts the European Championships - where both aimed to be present and leading.

What might Urska Zigart win?

Although Zigart did not win during the 2025 season, her second place at the Tour de Romandie Féminin was proof of her ability to win at the highest level. After finishing on the Top10 of the Giro Donne last year, this spring she repeated the feat, finishing one position higher in eighth place.
Zigart was also sixth at La Vuelta Feminina, but due to her injury could not improve on her palmarès at the Tour de France Femmes. Zigart was on the podium of the Faun Tour Femmes when she was forced to abandon; and will be continuing to team up with the likes of Kim Le Court and Sarah Gigante next year.
“I’m very happy to extend my contract with AG Insurance – Soudal and to stay a Wolf for another two years," the Slovenian added.
"I’m really excited to continue this journey with the team until 2029 and to take on the new challenges that lie ahead. I’m very grateful for the trust and support the team has shown me, and I’m looking forward to everything we can achieve together in the coming years".
