We are learning more and more details about
Egan Bernal's 2024 calendar. We have known for some time that he will be Carlos Rodriguez's teammate in the Tour de France and that he will have a little more freedom in the Vuelta a España. He will debut racing for his country's national team in the Tour Colombia and now we know his first race with
INEOS Grenadiers.
Specifically, it will be O Gran Camiño, a race won last year by Jonas Vingegaard and that this season will feature the British team. He himself confirmed his presence in Galicia and the other races he will race in his first block of races.
So, according to what he told Mundo Ciclístico, he will also participate in the Strade Bianche, Volta a Catalunya, Tour de Romandía and Itzulia: "Yes, normally I will do El Gran Camino, Strade Bianche, Catalunya, Romandía, Basque Country. Initially we are focused until Tour Colombia. I want to be very strong there and then in Europe we will see how everything goes. We have to be open to all possibilities".
He is very satisfied with his physical condition after what he ran in 2023: "Very good. The calendar we did last year was very hard, but it served to look for the best recovery and I think this year I come with other rhythms, I feel much better and the idea of 2023 was precisely to do many kilometers with the Tour, La Vuelta, accumulate fatigue and hope that the body could adapt again".
So, we will see how Egan does this year and if he is able to make a leap forward in his performance. We will see him very soon, both in Colombia and in Europe.
