"The next few days are flat and that certainly offers us opportunities" - Marianne Vos eyeing more success at La Vuelta Femenina after Jumbo-Visma win opening TTT

After being part of the Jumbo-Visma team at clocked the fastest time on the opening stage of La Vuelta Femenina in the team time-trial, Marianne Vos wants to keep the winning momentum going.

"It's fantastic to start a big round in this way," beamed a delighted Vos post-race. "We tried to make it a steady and fast time trial and it worked out well. When we were in the hot seat we all got a bit nervous. We didn't know what our time was good for. Winning a race with the team is the best feeling there is."

After taking victory by just a sole second ahead of the Canyon//SRAM Racing team, Vos's teammate, the 24-year-old British rider Anna Henderson has found herself the overall leader of La Vuelta Femenina. Vos meanwhile will begin tomorrow's second stage wearing the King of the Mountains jersey.

"Our goal is to win another stage and we also want to see how far we can go in the general classification," says Vos who held the Yellow Jersey at last year's Tour de France Femmes for five days before losing it in the mountains to eventual race winner Annemiek van Vleuten. "The next few days are flat and that certainly offers us opportunities. But first we will enjoy this victory."
